    Indian Ambassador inaugurates the Mega Medical Camp program organised by ICRF

    Manama: Commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) has initiated conducting a yearlong Mega Medical Camp in association with various hospitals and medical centers.

    The inaugural function was held today at the Middle East Hospital.  Chief Guest of the event was HE Mr Piyush Srivastava, Indian Ambassador to Bahrain who inaugurated the event by lighting the traditional lamp in the presence of Guest of Honors Ms Shereen Al Saathi – Director of Protection and Grievances at LMRA and Mr Varghese Kurian – Chairman of VKL Holdings & Al Namal Group,  Jeeben Varghese – Director of Middle East Hospital, VKL Holdings & Al Namal Group, ICRF Chairman Dr Babu Ramachandran, General Secretary Pankaj Nallur, Vice Chairman Adv V K Thomas,  Advisor Aruldas Thomas, Treasurer Mani Lakshmanamoorthy, Joint Treasurer Rakesh Sharma, Mega Medical Camp General Convenor Nasser Manjeri, Mega Medical Camp General Coordinator Murali Krishnan.

     

    Mega Medical Camp September month coordinator Subair Kannoor and ICRF volunteers Raman Preet, Sushma Anil, Anupama, Zulfiqar Ali, Chemban Jalal, Suresh Babu, Suni Kumar, Pankaj Malik, Kasi Viswanath, Nitin Jacob, KT Salim, Toji AT, Spandana Kishore, Murli Nomula, Clifford Correa, Reyna Clifford, Hari and Noushad also were part of organizing today’s event.

    ICRF team brought nearly 75 workers from Manama area to this event and they all underwent medical checkup and also attended doctor consultation.  Specialist consultation was also provided to workers who were diagnosed with chronic diseases.

    “The mega medical camp aims to conduct medical check-ups, in association with various hospitals/medical centres to more than 5000 workers during the next 12 months.

    The medical camps will be held at various medical facilities on alternate Fridays starting from this month.  We intend to take around 100-150 workers to each hospitals on alternate Fridays     The screen checks shall be followed by doctor consulting for all and specialist consultancy to the needy workers” said Dr Babu Ramachandran, Chairman of ICRF.

    The event’s main sponsor is Al Namal Group/VKL Group who has agreed to extend help through offering Middle East Hospital for medical check-ups as well as to provide lunches to around 2500 workers during the year.

    Annual sponsor of the event is LMRA.  They are providing Covid Awareness Campaign material (facemasks, antibacterial soaps etc) for all the workers.  ICRF has been working very closely with LMRA Team for the past many years we sincerely appreciate the efforts of LMRA in supporting us in this program.  Lucky, part of BNet, and Bohra community also supporting our mega event.

     

    For the smooth organisation and conducting of the program Nasser Manjeri will be the General Convenor and Murali Krishnan will be the General Coordinator along with 12 monthly coordinators – Subair Kannur, Clifford Correa, Ajaya Krishnan, Sudheer Thirunilath, Sushma Anil, K T Salim, Kasi Viswanath, Shivkumar DV, Sunil Kumar, Toji AT, Spandana Kishore and Chemban Jalal.

    Participating medical facilities are Middle East Hospital, Al Hilal Hospital, Kims Health, Shifa Al Jazeera, Dar Al Shifa Medical Centre, Aster Medical Centre American Mission Hospital and Thyrocare.

    All the workers will be provided with lunch and multilingual Covid-19 awareness flyers as well as gift hampers.
