    Indian School celebrates Tamil Day

    Manama: The Indian School  Bahrain(ISB) celebrated the Tamil Day in the Isa Town campus on  Thursday, January 12, 2023.  Tamil Scholar Pazha Karuppiah, Mohammed Hussain Malim,  ISB E.C Member Premalatha NS, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy,  Vice-Principals, Head Teachers, Heads of Departments  and students attended the programme.

    E.C Member Premalatha NS   spoke about  the beauty and the importance of Tamil language  which possesses a considerable body of ancient literature. The programme commenced   with the national anthem of Bahrain and India followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and the school prayer. HoD Trévise Michel, HT activities  Sreekala R  and Tamil Teacher  Rajeswari Manikandan  coordinated the programme. Issath Jahan (9E) welcomed the gathering.


    Students of std.IX performed the invocation dance, group song, instrumental play of flute and group dance. In the end of the programme  winners of different competitions were awarded with certificates and trophies. Drawing competition for IV, Handwriting competition for V, Thirukkural recitation for VI, Bharathiyar Kavithaigal recitation for VII, Bharathidhasan Kavithaigal recitation for VIII, Tamil Elocution for IX and  Poem Writing competition for X saw active participation of students.  Logesh Ravichandran(10Q) proposed vote of thanks.

Agathabalaki B (VI I),3.Rahul  Arun  (VI I). Thirukkural Recitation: 1.Parmesh Suresh Poomalai (VI T),2.  Lakshitha Sampath Tamilselvi  (VI E), 2. Shruthilaya Aravind (VI S). Bharathiyar Kavithaigal Recitation:1.Deepak Thanu Dev (VII E) 2. Jimhans Gnana Jegan Selva Subha (VII F) 3.Prathiksha Pon Roja Ajitkumar  (VII G), Krithika Vigneswaran (VII R). Bharathidhasan Kavithaigal:1.Rajeevan Rajkumar (VIII G),2.Jeevitha Duraithavamani (VIII G),3.Vikas Sakthivel (VIII T). Tamil Elocution:1.Mahasree Kittu (IX S),  2.DharshiniMuthukumar (IX S),3.Atishaya Suresh (IX S). Poem Writing : 1. Atifa Inaaya Abdul Kader (X E),2.Balaji Rajan (X Q), Nofia Jones(X E),3.Uthra Nachammai (X E), Shri Ram (X E).
