    Interior Minister launches eight new e-services

    His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa launched remotely on Monday eight new e-services.

    They include 76 Interior Ministry services for the public as part of the reinforcement of precautionary measures against coronavirus.

    The new services were launched in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority, Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, General Directorate of Traffic, General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science and Customs Affairs.

    They include services related to the issuance of Good Conduct Certificate, inquiry about the progress of the certificate issuance applications and check the certificate’s validity. Along with, visa extension, inquiry about the progress of the visa application and display the details of the visa. There are two other services, and they are paying the customs fees and display the traffic certificate.

    HE Interior Minister hailed the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to invest in modern technology in all sectors to serve the nation and citizens. He valued the follow up of the wise government led by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister for such constructive initiatives that come as part of the dedication of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to develop modern technologies to limit the spread of coronavirus.

    He highlighted that the launching of the new services as part of the electronic transformation and expansion of the Ministry’s services to achieve performance excellence to provide better services for citizens, to translate the strategies and priorities of the government and achieve the sustainable development goals. He expressed thanks and appreciation to all the Ministry’s directorates that were involved in the launching of the services.

    HE Interior Minister asserted that the next phase would witness the development of services of police directorates and centres as part of the continuation of the development plans and utilisation of technology in various initiatives and services. He directed for the importance to enhance awareness of all segments of society on how to benefit from the e-services that replace the need for personal attendance and visits to service centres.

    All citizens and residents can benefit from the Interior Ministry’s services through the National Portal bahrain.bh or through visiting the e-Government apps store bahrain.bh/apps.
