    Interior Minister visits National Centre for Cybersecurity

    Manama:  Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, visited today the National Centre for Cybersecurity. He was received by Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, the CEO of the Centre Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and some officials.

    At the beginning of the visit, the Interior Minister was briefed on the workflow and procedures to provide the best security services by monitoring and controlling systems for tracking cyber hackings to respond to them and limit their effects. He was also briefed on the government and private networks protection system.

    During the visit, the Centre’s CEO highlighted the preparedness of the centre through the workforce, training, monitoring and protection systems and analysis tools. He highlighted the response capabilities for serious cyberattacks, training plans for government employees, and training on the protection of the network programme for the workforce.

    The Interior Minister hailed the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to promote comprehensive security, including cybersecurity, to meet the Kingdom’s approach to providing integrated modern e-services. He highlighted the support and follow up of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to implement the directives.

    He expressed thanks and appreciation to the Centre’s CEO and staff, hailing their sincere efforts and commitment to the latest standards to reinforce national preparedness in facing cyber threats and protecting databases and systems.

    He asserted the importance of enhancing the skills of the workforce to promote Bahrain’s position in international cybersecurity indicators and to benefit from global expertise and experiences. He also directed to enhance awareness about the risks facing internet users. He wished them the centre’s team all the best in serving the nation.
