MANAMA: The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated the 5th International Yoga Day in association with the Indian Embassy with great fervor and enthusiasm on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Isa Town Campus. The Indian Embassy Culture Teacher Rudresh Kumar Singh gave demonstrations on various yoga asanas.  “Yoga is     a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body”, he said. “The art of practising yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind; it helps manage stress and anxiety and keeps you relaxing. It also helps in increasing flexibility, muscle strength and body tone. It improves respiration, energy and vitality. Practising yoga might seem like just stretching, but it can do much more for your body from the way you feel, look and move”, Rudresh Kumar Singh explained.  
Special assemblies were organized to commemorate the occasion   for classes from IV to VIII in which students and teachers narrated the benefits and relevance of Yoga    which is a discipline originated in ancient India.   The programme comprised of prayer, followed by a speech about the origin of Yoga and its significance.
