KHK Boxing is set to delve into the world of professional boxing. KHK Sports’ boxing division has cemented landmark deals for the development of the sport in the region and will now take its brand into the international boxing scene. The move is another milestone for the company, founded by His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa to aid the development of the sport initially in the Kingdom of Bahrain and now worldwide.
His Highness Shaikh Khaled has been the driving force behind several high-profile achievements for sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He has led Team Bahrain to the top of international mixed martial arts with the number one nation in the IMMAF world rankings, with the historic achievement proving Bahrain is the home of the sport worldwide.
He has also been responsible for the rise of several future superstars in MMA, as Bahrain is the home of the number one and number two pound-for-pound senior amateur fighters in the world. His KHK MMA Team is also the home of the number one pound-for-pound junior amateur fighter.
Through his work as president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa has also empowered e-sports around the Kingdom, with KHK e-sports tournament, the largest e-gaming competition Bahrain has ever seen.
His charity work with KHK Heroes has also seen more than 14,000 food packs delivered to the needful throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain, as companies aggregated to help the less fortunate go through a difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the leader and founder of the BRAVE Combat Federation, His Highness Shaikh Khaled has also overseen the first global awareness campaign held by a mixed martial arts promotion. #BRAVECombatsCovid19 has been an astounding success as fighters, fans, and personalities from around the world have joined the collaboration to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.
KHK Boxing had already made waves recently partnering up, through KHK Sports, with the World Boxing Council, to create the first-ever Arab World Championship belt, in a move that will empower and aid the development of the sport in the Middle East.
Mohammed Shahid, CEO of KHK Sports and President of BRAVE Combat Federation, spoke about the new opportunities that will inevitably arise from the expansion.
“KHK Boxing has been working diligently on the amateur scene, providing young athletes with the opportunities to develop their skills and test themselves at the highest level. This move into the professional world of boxing will allow the company to extend its help in the development of the sport, this time on a worldwide scale”.
