Bahrain : Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan stressed the Government’s keenness on improving citizens’ standard of living.
He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his royal care, hailing the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He commended the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to to double the distribution of social assistance allowances to those entitled to social security and a disability pension during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to figures released by the minister, the move will benefit around 17,000 Bahraini families recipient of social allowances, as well as up to 13, 000 persons with physical disabilities, who are registered with the ministry.
The minister said a budget exceeding BD6 million has been allocated to implement HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s directives, adding that the payouts would be disbursed by mid-March, as the advent of the Holy month of Ramadan is approaching.
Humaidan announced that the payouts would be deposited with the recipients’ bank accounts tomorrow (March 15), adding the the amounts will also include the 10% rise in the financial support for low-income families and social security beneficiaries
The government amended social security distribution and financial support for low-income individuals in January 2022 by increasing financial support for low-income families and social security beneficiaries by 10%.
