Manama : Labour Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has stressed the need to invest in Bahrain’s national human resources.
He also affirmed the importance of employers’ benefiting from the incentives offered by the government to the private sector, including supporting the wages of citizens and providing them with free training.
He also highlighted the importance of solidarity among various relevant authorities in employing Bahraini youth is a joint social responsibility, as it contributes to higher employment rates and the enhancement of social security.
The minister made the statements while visiting the Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company BSC (Bahrain Credit), where he met the Board of Directors Chairman, Abdulrahman Fakhro, Chief Executive Officer, Abdulla Bukhowa, and several officials.
The visit is part of a series of visits to companies and institutions that support the Ministry’s initiatives and programmes in the field of employing national competencies, especially the National Employment Programme within the Economic Recovery Plan, whose priorities include creating promising job opportunities and making citizens the first choice in the labour market. It aims to employ 20,000 Bahrainis and train 10,000. Bahraini annually until 2024.
The minister was briefed about the efforts of Bahrain Credit in implementing its plans to recruit and attract nationals in its various departments and divisions, in addition to the company’s role in enhancing the work environment that is attractive and stimulating to productivity by providing the needs of its employees and empowering them professionally to ensure job stability.
He was also informed about the company’s interest in employing Bahraini women, confirming its keenness to attract Bahraini human resources and make them the first choice for employment, which is reflected in the high percentage of national manpower in the company and proves the stimulating and attractive work environment it provides.
He also met a number of Bahrainis working in the company, and listened to their professional success stories, career advancement, and access to senior positions in the company, stressing the importance of highlighting these role models, which proved themselves as examples to be emulated by Bahraini youth.
Bahrain Credit’s CEO highlighted the company’s interest in attracting Bahraini competencies, and providing a suitable and stimulating work environment that creates good conditions for them to excel and be stable professionally.
He also affirmed that Bahraini employees account for 94.5% of the total number of workers in the company.
He also shed light on the company’s strategy in training its competencies and ensuring the continuity of their professional development, including supporting them to pursue their university studies and specialised qualitative training.
In this regard, he appreciated the efforts of the Labour Ministry to provide qualified national competencies, noting that he is looking forward to more joint cooperation by contributing to supporting the Labour Ministry’s employment and training initiatives and programmes.
