From Putin to Oli, as wishes poured in from around the world and as Bollywood fraternity Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Shahid Kapoor, Salman Khan, and many more took to their Twitter handle to wish the Prime Minister on his 70th birthday, a group of Indians silently made it very special today by sending 70 tons of food materials to the recent blast affected citizen of Lebanon.

A dozen prominent Indians in the Kingdom of Bahrain met the Lebanese Ambassador to Bahrain Dr Milad Nomour at his office today morning and handed over the documents of the cargo that will be sent to Lebanon to be distributed amongst the public for free through various NGO’s selected over a two weeks period of close due diligence.

The initiative labelled “From India to Lebanon with Love” is organised by the Narendra Modi Institute of Yoga based out of the Kingdom which was formed a year ago to give free yoga training to the public at large.

The cargo consist of Sella basmati rice, chickpeas, sunflower oil and tomato paste. Dr. Arun Kumar Prahraj, CEO of the Dadabhai group who was present at the function promised the Ambassador of more supplies in the coming months.

Mr. Mahesh Devji, Managing director of Devji jewellers while expressing his concern for the people of Lebanon also urged the need to continue such noble initiatives repeatedly in this time of a global recession to act as helping hands to the less fortunate.

To mark additional solidarity to Lebanon in respect of the PM’s birthday, Dr Ranjit M.K, CEO & MD of Fame Technology Solutions presented E 365, a total E-learning platform for the students and teachers of Lebanon absolutely free of charges for the next one year.

The Indian Ladies wing was represented by Mrs. Kalpana Patil and Mrs. Kundan Shah. Also present were Priyanka, Krishnan K.P., Veerananda Kittappa, Sandhya Ashokan, Vijayan Kumaran and Sunil Kumar.
