Germany: More than 60 percent of people in Germany have now been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, said dpa international.

Some 50 million people (60.1 per cent of the population) have now received their second injection, the Health Ministry announced on Saturday.

Almost 65 per cent (54 million) have been vaccinated at least once. According to figures provided by the ministry, 213,092 vaccine doses were administered in Germany on Friday alone.

The state of Bremen leads the field nationwide in vaccination rates, with 74.7 per cent of residents already having had at least one injection, and 70.2 per cent are already fully vaccinated.

Saxony, on the other hand, has the lowest rate in the country, with only 54.8 per cent of the population having received at least one jab, and where 51.4 per cent are fully vaccinated.

“Every single vaccination helps us to get through autumn and winter together,”
