Bahrain : Muharraq Governor, Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al-Mannai, has lauded the role of Ma’atams (Community centres) and houses of worship in fostering patriotic feelings under various circumstances, stressing the importance of continuing to adhere to the precautionary measures announced by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) for the Ashoora season in order to contribute to protecting the health and safety of everyone.

The Governor was speaking while receiving the heads of community centres and Hussainiyas in the Muharraq Governorate, in the presence of Deputy Governor, Brigadier Abdulla bin Khalifa Al-Jairan, Director-General of the Muharraq Governorate’s Police Directorate, Brigadier Saleh bin Rashid Al-Dossari, Medical Services Chief at the Salmaniya Medical Complex, and member of the National Medical Taskforce, Dr. Nabeel Al-Asheeri.

The governor conveyed greetings from the Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to the attendees, noting that all precautionary measures aim to ensure the safety and health of all the participants in the commemoration of the Ashoora season.

He asserted that the pandemic has showcased the solidarity of everyone in the kingdom, and the strength of the cohesive deep-rooted Bahraini social fabric, stressing constructive cooperation of the Governorate with all the community centres there.

He indicated that based on the Interior Ministry’s directives, the Muharraq Governorate had formed a committee, chaired by Deputy Governor, to follow up on the implementation of the security and health instructions to ensure public safety.

Dr. Al-Asheeri underlined the importance of implementing all the measures announced by the Medical Taskforce to ensure the safety of all the participants in the Ashoora season commemoration.

The Deputy Governor highlighted the major role played by community centres’ heads in informing visitors about all the medical guidelines in order to enhance public awareness and ensure the health of everyone.

Director-General of the Muharraq Governorate’s Police Directorate extended thanks to all community centres for their constant cooperation with the directorate.
