MANAMA: Sunni Endowments Council Chairman, Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajeri, on Thursday opened the late “Ali bin Mohammed bin Jumaa Al-Kaabi” Mosque in Askar.

Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed highlighted the importance of building and serving mosques and houses of worship.

He said that the kingdom has built many mosques over the past years thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al-Hajeri paid tribute to the family of the late Ali bin Mohammed bin Jumaa Al-Kaabi for their kind donation to build the mosque. He also expressed thanks to the members, officials and employees of the Sunni Endowments Council and Sunni Endowments Directorate for their interest in building mosques.

The 1,363-square-metre mosque can accommodate nearly 150 male worshippers and 20 female ones. It includes the accommodation of the imam and the muezzin.
