Bahrain : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputized his Personal Representative, His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to attend the Horse Racing Festival held today on His Majesty the King’s Cup by the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club on Al Raffah track in Sakhir.
The race was attended by Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Authority, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain and horse racing fans.
HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the trophies to the winners of the race. He presented HM the King’s Cup for Arabian Horses and HM the King’s Cup for Locally-bred Horses to Fawzi Nass, HM the King’s Cup for Imported Horses to Shaikh Sultan Eddine bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Charter’s Cup to owner Abdullah Fawzi Nass. Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented Al Raffah Cup to trainer Jaber Ramadhan and the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club Cup to owner Abdullah Isa. TetraCells representative presented TetraCells Sprint Cup to trainer Yousef Taher.
HM the King’s Personal Representative expressed pride in attending the race on behalf of HM the King, commending the efforts of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in organising such races and supporting the jockeys. He lauded the achievements made by Bahraini jockeys in the equestrian and horse racing sport.
HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended the care and support accorded by HM the King to the equestrian and horse racing sport which enabled the Kingdom of Bahrain to occupy a prominent place in this sport locally, regionally and internationally. He described the royal support as a motive for Bahraini jockeys to do their best in big races. He congratulated the winners, wishing them further success.
