Berlin : More than 61 per cent of people in Germany have now been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, tweeted on Saturday, said dpa international.
According to the figures published, more than 54 million people (65.7 percent of the population) have received a first dose and almost 51 million people (61.2 percent of the population) are now fully vaccinated, which in most cases requires a second shot.
In Germany vaccination fatigue is spreading visibly. The main reason, according to Christian Drosten, a virologist at Berlin’s Charite Hospital, is indifference among the population.
Germany will therefore “definitely” need to reintroduce social distancing measures at some point during the next few months, Drosten told German podcast Das Coronavirus-Update, adding that it would be unwise not to be worried about the coming autumn.
