Manama: A coordination meeting was held today to prepare for the third meeting of the Bahrain-India High Joint Commission (HJC), to be held in New Delhi on April 7. The coordination meeting was chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Secretary (CPV&OIA) of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Sanjay Bhattacharyya. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the existing partnership frameworks between the two countries, the progress made in the fields of health, space science, computing, trade and investment, and security and labour cooperation, as well as the prospects for future cooperation in a way that serves the mutual benefits of the two friendly countries.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah affirmed that the Bahraini-Indian relations are well-established, and reflect their distinguished friendship and comprehensive cooperation. He added that the aspirations of the two countries for bilateral cooperation during the next stage are full of promising opportunities in diverse investment and strategic sectors.  He also noted that the meeting of the joint committee between the two countries, which is held under exceptional circumstances due to the Coronavirus pandemic, contributed to promoting rapprochement and cooperation between partners, expressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s aspiration to develop joint cooperation with the friendly Republic of India in all fields.
