    Rashid Equestrian Club holds season’s 21st race

    Bahrain : Under the patronage of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and in the presence of the Chairman of High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC), His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Deputy Chairman of the High Committee of the REHC, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club today held its 21st race at its racecourse in Raffa.

    The eight-round race was held over the cups of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and those of his children, HH Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in addition to the Al-Sakhir Cup and the Economic Vision 2030 Cup.

    HH Shaikh Nasser deputised HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to honour the winners of his two cups. HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman presented the trophies of the seventh and eighth rounds to owner Abdulla Fawzi Nass and HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, respectively.

    On behalf of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid presented the trophies of the cups of HH Shaikh Nasser’s sons to Abdulla Fawzi Nass, for the first round, trainer Haidar Ebrahim, for the second round, HH Shaikh Sultan El-Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, for the third round, and owner Hassan Mefereh Al-Ajmi, for the fourth round.

    HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also crowned the winners of the Sakhir and Economic Vision 2030 cups, namely the representative of Godolphin stables, and HH Shaikh Sultan El-Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, respectively. HH Shaikh Isa also honoured the winning trainers and jockeys of the Sakhir and Economic Vision 2030 cups, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Batelco, the official sponsors of the two rounds.

     In a statement, HH Shaikh Nasser affirmed his pride in and keenness on translating the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the first knight and the first supporter to the equestrian sport in the kingdom, into the ground regarding the need to continue developing various equestrian sports in the kingdom so as to reach the highest levels.

    HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted his keenness to support the efforts and development steps made by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, led by the Club’s Honorary President, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Chairman of the Club’s High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

    HH Shaikh Nasser expressed delight at the success of the race held over his cups and those of his sons, commending the efforts exerted by the REHC to ensure the success of the race’s rounds, and congratulating all the winning owners, trainers and jockeys.
