Royal Mail is set to cut 2,000 management jobs as it fights to cope with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.
The postal service company was already facing issues before the start of the pandemic.
The coronavirus outbreak had accelerated the trends of more parcels and fewer letters being sent.
The company said it had not adapted quickly enough to that change in the market.

The postal service company employ about 162,000 as of 2019, of which 143,000 are in the United Kingdom.
The postal service company currently has about 9,700 managers, and the job losses will hit the most senior roles hardest, with half of them set to go.
“Frontline postal staff are unlikely to be affected because Royal Mail needs to preserve quality of service”, a spokesman said.
