Manama : As part of its cultural season, “Stand at the Corner of the Dream and Fight”, the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre for Culture and Research will host on Thursday at 07:00 pm, the screening of the film “Fatema, the Unforgettable Sultana”, directed by Moroccan Director Mohammed Abdulrahman Tazi.
The film depicts the life of Moroccan feminist writer and sociologist Fatema Mernissi, as well as her well-grounded academic legacy.
Mohammed Abdulrahman Tazi is a Moroccan filmmaker, screenwriter and cinematographer. He studied at the Institute for Advanced Film Studies (IDHEC) in Paris, where he graduated in 1963. He then pursued communication studies at Syracuse University in New York State.
Tazi has made several films, including “Le Grand Voyage” (The Great Journey) in 1981, “Badis” in 1988, “A la recherche du mari de ma femme” (In Search of My Wife’s Husband) in 1993, “Lalla Hobby” (My Lady, My Love) in 1996, “Les voisines d’Abou Moussa” (Neighbours of Abu Moussa) in 2003, “Al Bayra” (The Spinster) in 2013, and ” Fatema, La Sultane Inoubliable” (Fatema, the Unforgettable Sultana) in 2022.
