    Shaikh Khalid chairs weekly committee meeting

    HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Bahrain Olympic Committee President has chaired the weekly meeting of the Coordination, Execution and Follow-up Committee “Estijabah” (Response) which was held through a video call.

    The meeting was attended by MPs Ghazi Al Rahma, Mahmoud Al Bahrani, Abdullah Al Doseri, Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi Zainab Abdulameer. Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Chairman Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and several presidents of national clubs were also present.

    HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed the attendees, valuing the decision of the Cabinet session, chaired by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to allow clubs to change their status to commercial companies.

    “This decision is part of a set of development projects which have been assigned by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports to the Estijabah Committee to follow-up and implement the measure”, he said.

    He said that the decision would have a positive impact on t national clubs, commending the decision of the HRH-the-Crown-Prince-Led National Task Force for Combating COVID-19 to allow the resumption of the sports activities starting mid- July.

    He also hailed the outcome of the recent meeting of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, which was chaired by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
