Manama: Bahrain Olympic Committee has nominated Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa as member of the GCC Women Sports Advisory Committee.
BOC board Dr. Shaikha Hessa contributed over 20 years to promoting women soccer as part of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA).
She also became member of BFA board and chaired women’s football committee. She is also member of several GCC and Arab women football committees. She is holder of the achievement diploma in 2020 from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Dr. Shaikha Hessa is recipient of several prizes and medals, in recognition of her efforts to promote women football and gender equality.
She recently obtained a PhD degree in Sports Business Administration from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, after she prepared a thesis entitled: “Gulf Change: Women, Sports and Development in the Arabian Gulf”.
