Manama : Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, has affirmed the importance of developing parliamentary work through modern technologies and digital transformations, in light of the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Speaker pointed out keenness of the Council of Representatives to cope with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)’s electronic transformation trends to upgrade the mechanisms of parliamentary work and activate the legislative and monitoring tools to serve the nation and citizens. He thanked the Secretariat General, led by Chancellor Rashid Mohammed Bunejma, for supporting the parliamentary work and developing performance.

The Speaker of the Council of Representatives was speaking during an inauguration ceremony today of “Adawat” (Tools) system, in the presence of First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Abdulnabi Salman, Second Deputy Speaker Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, MPs and officials from the Secretariat General.

The system allows MPs to easily submit and follow up their legislative and monitoring tools by transmitting MPs’ requests electronically.
