Manama: Bahrain Keralite Samajam Governing Council violates Articles 30,32, 33 & 39 of the Government Order Law No 21 of 1989 under the Club Act.The ministry said in a related gazette notification that it had taken action against the governing body for violating Articles 30,32, 33 & 39 of the Law No 21 of 1989 and misrepresenting the instructions of the Bahrain Ministry of Social Affairs. And that the present committee has no governing Authority . It said that within two months, the Samajam should submit its entire transactions, including its financial transactions, in the last one year for inspection and has called for the election of a new committee within a month . This is the first time in the history of the Samjam in 71 years. This is based on a memorandum submitted by the Progressive Panel to the Ministry of Social Affairs. As per the Constitution of Kerala Samajam and the under the provisions of Club Act of 1989 Annual General Body of Samajam be summoned in accordance with the constitution, the laws of the country, and the election of a new governing body within three months of the end of the fiscal year. The Current Committee does not call for Election and made false propaganda to the members that the Ministry had suggested that there is no need for Election this year. For a long time, the current leadership has continue to mislead the members and the government in order to overcome the opposition of continuing to take the leadership of the governing body. Those who question the misconduct of the Samajam Executive Committee are humiliatd by saying they are against Samajam. They are even following anti democratic measures like threatening the members who voice their concern , either personally or through the office where members are working . This type of personnel attack is deplorable and is not expected from persons leading an organization like Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, the Cultural Centre of all Keralites in Bahrain.
The Progressive Panel is urging all members to respond strongly to such an anti-democratic approach of the Executive Committee and we will continue to address these wrongdoings of the governing body,” through administrative and legal process the spokesman said.
