Former US president Donald Trump has accused Piers Morgan of deceptively editing a video that appears to show the two men sparring over Mr Trump’s continued false claims he won the 2020 election.
Morgan posted brief excerpts on Wednesday of his interview with Mr Trump in a promotion for his new show, Piers Morgan Uncensored.
It appears to show the two men in a clash over the former president’s false claims that the last US election was rigged.
“It was a free and fair election. You lost,” Morgan says.
“Only a fool would think that,” Mr Trump responds.
When Morgan asks Mr Trump if he thinks he is a fool, he replies: “I do now, yeah.”
But according to a statement posted on Twitter by his spokesman, Mr Trump said Morgan “attempted to unlawfully and deceptively edit his long and tedious interview with me”, adding the video “was doctored”.
Mr Morgan did not immediately respond to an attempt to reach him for comment.
