Manama : Türkiye’s Ambassador to Bahrain Esin Çakıl has expressed her deep thanks and profound gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the people of Bahrain for their support and solidarity with Türkiye in dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake.

“On behalf of the Republic of Türkiye, I wholeheartedly thank Bahrain’s leadership and people. Türkiye will never forget this solidarity,” Ambassador Çakıl told Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

“In the aftermath of the earthquake that hit Türkiye on February 6, the immediate response of Bahrain was a clear demonstration of the strong friendship between Türkiye and Bahrain,” she said.

The ambassador commended the directives given by HM King Hamad and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as Bahrain’s humanitarian approach that won the hearts and minds of the Turkish nation.

“I would like to express our gratitude to the Royal Guard Commander Major General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa who leads the search and rescue operation Sawaed Al-Gaith,” she said.

“Under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, a 35-personnel search and rescue team from Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) was sent to Hatay,” she said.

Ambassador Çakıl paid tribute to the heroes of the BDF for saving a life under the rubble 176 hours after the earthquake.

She also praised the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) that coordinated Bahrain’s first humanitarian aid to Türkiye.

“We applaud the endeavors of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation for giving all the support to the embassy for the cooperation on delivering the urgent assistance in the earthquake zones,” the ambassador said.

More than $ 3.7 million were raised during “The Day of Solidarity” telethon that ran three hours on Bahrain Television on Friday evening.

Bahrain TV organized the event in cooperation with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) under a national campaign to support the earthquake quake victims.
