Manama : The participation of regional and international companies has been highly visible in Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS 2022).

The UAE pavilion presented various aviation projects developed by Emirati companies and institutions, under the supervision of the Tawazun authority.

The pavilion is organized by the Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC) and managed by Tawazun Council, the UAE’s defence and security acquisitions authority.

It offers the latest ‘Made in the UAE’ products, technologies, solutions and services by leading defence companies, including Edge, Yahsat, GAL, Al Hamra, Ammroc and Calidus.

Tawazun Council is a defence and security acquisitions authority for the UAE Armed Forces and Abu Dhabi Police.

The council focuses on Aerospace and Aeronautics, Industrial Infrastructure, Communication Systems, and Education within the Defense and Security sector and enabled the creation of more than 90 companies and investment vehicles, covering 11 sectors, including defence manufacturing.

“The participation of the UAE National Pavilion is an embodiment of the strong relations under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Al Nahyan,” Tawazun Authority Corporate Communications Director Mona Ahmed Al Jaber told Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

“There is a display of projects under the ‘Made in UAE’ label by various Emirati companies in the pavilion’s third participation.”

A participating company is AL TARIQ, an EDGE Group company involved in the design and manufacturing of precision-guided munitions (PGMs).

Edge consists of four clusters grouped with 20 companies representing the high-technology defence environment of the UAE.

“AL TARIQ IS exhibiting at BIAS 2022 for the first and we are excited for the incredible business opportunities to further widen our footprint in the international domain, and partner up with stakeholders and GCC countries to expand our joint relations,” AL TARIQ CEO Theunis Botha said.

EDGE Group also signed a cooperation agreement with Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). The agreement enhances further joint military relations.
