    What are the side effects of post COVID-19?, explains Dr. Jameela Al Salman

    Dr. Jameela Al-Salman, Consultant of Infectious and Internal Diseases at Salmaniya Medical Complex responded to Starvision News’s question in a press conference held by the National team to combat COVID-19, “What are the side effects of post COVID-19?”

    “According to the study, all recovered will have long time symptoms. 40 % of the study says it may have inflammation in the lungs, some patients may require long time use of oxygens even after recovered. Patients may suffer from heart problems, neuro system, brain and also noticed the effect on concentration in the patients in Bahrain and around the world. Patients also suffer conditions like lack of sleep and lack of smell which may recover slowly.” Dr. Jameela said.

    Dr. Waleed Al Manea, Undersecretary of the MOH mentioned that 1,814 of the active coronavirus cases in Bahrain do not have symptoms. The asymptomatic cases have applied for optional home self-isolation.

    The capacity of the isolation and treatment centers are 8,357 beds, of which 2839 beds are occupied, equivalent to 34% of the capacity.

    Dr. Manaf Al Qahtani said that Italian medical delegation visits Bahrain with a view to sharing experiences in dealing with virus by working closely with national medical staff and learning about treatment protocols in various treatment centers.
