World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed thanks and appreciation to the rulers, leaders and people of Bahrain for the warm hospitality extended to him during the visit.
He also praised the positive indicators achieved by Bahrain in flattening the COVID-19 curve and reducing deaths to the lowest levels since the beginning of the pandemic.

“The WHO office in Bahrain – 152nd office in the world – provides strategic and technical support in the health sector, which will contribute to ensuring the quality and sustainability of services provided to continue promoting public health at local, regional and international levels,” Tedros said.
