Manama : Three concepts have won the fifth edition of The Government Innovation Competition (Fikra), launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The winning concepts were selected through a comprehensive evaluation process, combining evaluation by a committee of Government Ministers and a public vote.
The Ministerial Committee selected ‘Motorcycle Ambulance (The Fast Responder)’, presented by Fayez Bassam Shamikh Fayez AlShamikh, from the
Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, and the ‘Legislation Laboratory’, presented by Abdulaziz Abdulla Rashed Abdulla AlMoawdah, from the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission.
‘360 Educator Evaluation’ presented by Noora Ebrahim Rashed Aljawder, Shaikha Sanad Ebrahim Sanad Ali Alfadhala, Mohamed Abdulnabi Salman Alawainati, and Lateefa Khalid Juma Ebrahim Juma Aldoy, from the Ministry of Education, won the public vote.
The committee remarked that winning concepts were chosen based on their focus on supporting current government efforts and improving government quality and delivery of services provided to citizens and residents.
The committee commended the participants’ efforts and wished them success in the future, noting that all 12 finalist concepts were innovative ideas.
The committee noted that the concepts will be shared at a Government Executive Committee meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in preparation for implementation across relevant government agencies.
The Ministerial Committee consisted of the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, HE Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Oil and Environment, HE Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, the Minster of Social Development, HE Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, the Minister of Health, HE Dr Jalila bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, HE Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, the Minister of Education, HE Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma.
Fikra supports a culture of creativity and innovation by empowering public sector employees to put forward ideas and proposals that advance the Kingdom’s development goals. The competition aims to raise the efficiency of government services, in accordance with the principles of the 2023-2026 Government Programme and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which are built on the values of sustainability, competitiveness, and fairness.
